JAKARTA - Bungie, the company behind the development of the game Destiny 2, announced its termination of employment (PHK) to 17 percent or about 220 company employees.

The company said that the termination was due to increased industrial development and shift costs, as well as the company's ongoing economic conditions.

"Being clear that we need to make substantial changes to our cost structure and focus fully development efforts on Destiny and Marathon," wrote Bungie CEO Pete Parsons in an announcement on its official website.

Pete also emphasized where this decision will affect every level of the company, including most of the executive and senior leaders roles.

Despite this difficult decision, Bungie offered a lucrative resignation package, including the provision of severance pay, bonuses, and health insurance for affected employees.

"Today, and over the next few weeks, we will hold team meetings and general meetings, group discussions sessions, and individual private sessions to ensure our communication remains open and transparent," Pete continued.

The company is also committed to continuing to make great games in the future, with more than 850 team members currently in it.

"And we will continue to build extraordinary experiences that go beyond the expectations of our players," the notice concluded.

In October last year, Bloomberg reported that Bungie should lay off an unspecified number of staff that caused a real delay for Marathon's next game and expansion for Destiny 2.
