Google Launches Update For Maps And Waze, Makes It Easy For Users To Report The Situation

JAKARTA - Google is rolling out a number of updates to Maps and Waze that will make it easier for users to find and share information, directly from the app.

Now, either on Maps or on Waze, you'll see a larger reporting icon, so you can report incidents or events around the road such as construction, lane closures, objects, and the presence of police easily.

This new reporting icon on Maps has now been launched globally on Android and iOS applications, cars with built-in Google, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

In addition, Google Maps will now also display details of entrances or parking doors that will make it easier for you to find them. So based on the demonstration given, Maps will automatically illuminate the building and its entrance when you approach it.

This new goal guide on Maps is now rolling out globally on Android and iOS, cars with built-in Google, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay in the coming weeks.

To help you be more vigilant while driving and complying with local laws, Google adds the ability to see the types of road surveillance cameras (CCTV) on Waze.

For example, you will see a warning if you approach a CCTV camera that takes pictures for things like traffic violations. This warning serves as a reminder. This feature has been rolled out globally on Android and iOS.

Lastly, to help you navigate more easily, Waze drivers can now get navigational guidance such as bend-by-turn directions, latest traffic information, or hazard alerts, even though the phone is still in a safe condition.

Lockscreen navigation was launched globally on Waze for Android this month, and will be coming to iOS this fall.
