JAKARTA - Xiaomi announced that it will reduce the amount of bloatware on their devices, but the company will not add an option to turn off the ad as a whole.

Bloatware refers to apps or software that were already installed on devices, often not very useful for most users and is difficult to remove. This application is usually included by device manufacturers or mobile operators for specific marketing purposes or business reasons.

Xiaomi has confirmed that they are not planning to offer a single toggle to disable system ads, despite a recent leak of information stating that the company is working on the option.

The company explains that it focuses on reducing pre-installed apps and viewing content to improve the user experience. However, they don't plan to add the toggle because it is considered only to be used by a small number of users.

Currently, Xiaomi users should take several steps to disable ads on their phones. They need to disable the MSA app (MIUI System Ads), which is hidden in the settings menu. However, this does not completely remove ads from system apps, such as File Managers, Music and Downloads, which also require additional settings in their respective menus.

Xiaomi is committed to reducing previously installed bloatware and apps on their devices, but the decision not to add a toggle option to systematically disable ads has disappointed some users.
