JAKARTA - Today the National Police has started to enforce the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) or electronic ticket. Electronic ticketing is implemented in order to minimize extortion by unscrupulous individuals when taking action against traffic offenders.

Electronic ticketing makes use of CCTV cameras. Around 244 ticket cameras will be installed in 12 Regional Police (Polda) in major cities in Indonesia.
On the island of Java, there are several areas, namely, 98 points in Polda Metro Jaya, 1 point in Banten Regional Police, 21 points in West Java Regional Police, 4 points in DI Yogyakarta Regional Police, 10 points in Central Java Regional Police, 55 points in East Java Regional Police.
Meanwhile, on the island of Sumatra, there are 5 points at Lampung Regional Police, 8 points at Jambi Regional Police, 5 points at Riau Regional Police, 10 points at West Sumatra Regional Police. The last is on the island of Sulawesi, namely 11 points in the North Sulawesi Regional Police and 16 points at the South Sulawesi Regional Police.
