JAKARTA - iOS 18 beta 3 introduces a dynamic wallpaper. When selected, the wallpaper color will change automatically throughout the day. The dynamic wallpaper feature has been available on macOS for years, and iPhone users have long requested it. Unlike the Mac version, this feature is quite limited to iOS, as it only switches between four color variants.

macOS has been offering dynamic wallpapers for some time. For those who are not familiar, this feature combines several variants of images into one bundle and alternates between them throughout the day. iOS 18 beta 3 eventually brings this highly requested feature to the latest iPhone, allowing mobile users to select dynamic wallpapers.

As reported by 9to5Mac, iOS 18 beta 3 offers a dynamical variant of the default wallpaper. Prior to this pre-release build, users were limited to four individual color options: Purple, Azure, Pink, and Yellow. Now, by selecting a new dynamical variant, iOS automatically switches between these four colors throughout the day.

The execution of iOS 18 of the dynamic wallpaper feature is much more limited than that of macOS. On Mac, dynamic wallpaper offers many nuances with small differences that change over time. In the iPhone case, OS only switches between four image variants. However, this is a welcome addition to the iPhone that many users will appreciate.

In addition to dynamic wallpapers, iOS 18 beta 3 introduces several other useful features. This includes InSight tools in Apple TV apps, expanded RCS support, automated dark mode icons for third-party applications, and more.

Those registered in Apple's developer program can already download and install iOS 18 beta 3 on their compatible iPhone. Meanwhile, users who are not too adventurous can expect public beta to catch up as soon as next week.
