JAKARTA - Germany's software company, TeamViewer, said on Friday, June 28 that it was a victim of a cyberattack earlier last week and accused the Russian hacker group, APT29, of being the culprit.

The group, also known as the "Cozy Bear" or Midnight Blizzard, is suspected by Western intelligence to operate on behalf of a Russian foreign spy agency.

In March, Alphabet's cyber Mandiant unit said it had arrested the hacking group trying to trick " Germany's key political figures" into opening phishing emails.

The German software company, which specializes in cloud-based technology, said in a statement that the group managed to access the company's IT environment but did not access their product environment or customer data on Wednesday.
