JAKARTA - Substacks, online publishing platforms, launch videos to Substack Chat, which allow users to easily record videos on their phones and send them directly to their subscribers.

The video launch on Substack Chat comes two months after the newsletter platform brought videos to Notes, an X/Twitter impersonator that allows users to share short content.

Today we’re bringing video to Substack Chat. Record a video on your phone and send it directly to your subscribers. Video in Chat is a way Substack creators can be candid with their community, in a private space they own and control. Read more:https://t.co/jBfmTOc26U pic.twitter.com/Zj9V2LqbEC

In an announcement shared on Wednesday, June 5, Substack said that you can choose to post the video to be paidwalled to a paid subscriber or just the initial level.

Video di Chat akan bisa berdurasi hingga lima menit. Untuk pengalaman paling lancar, sebaiknya unggap pada 1080p atau lebih rendah.

If you allow customers to start their own suite of chats, then customers can share their own videos with the community. The company also promised video replies will be coming soon.

As usual, only your subscribers can see and participate in chats. Paywall and chat permissions can all be adjusted from your settings easily.

The company launched Chat earlier this year, allowing users to communicate more casually with its customers. Just last month, Substack added the ability to pay for the entire chat or series of certain messages to paid members.
