JAKARTA - Elon Musk's AI startup, xAI, managed to raise US$6 billion (Rp96.2 trillion) in Series B funding, even reaching a post-money valuation of US$24 billion (Rp385 trillion) when investors invested heavily in OpenAI challengers in increasingly intensive AI competition.

According to xAI, this funding is supported by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital. "The company's pre-money valuation is 18 billion dollars," Musk said in a post on X.

The money will be used to bring xAI's first product to market, build advanced infrastructure, and accelerate future research and technology development.

"There will be more announcements in the coming weeks," Musk said in another post X, in response to the funding announcement.

Companies like Microsoft that support OpenAI and Alphabet are among those leading the tight competition for the dominance of generative AI, encouraging significant investments and innovations in this rapidly growing landscape.
