Strava Appoints Google Executive Michael Martin As The Company's New CEO

JAKARTA - Strava, a social media-based app used to track the results of the sport, with more than 120 million members having appointed Michael Martin as the company's new Chief Executive Officer.

Along with the appointment, Martin will also join the Strava Board of Directors after taking office on January 2, 2024.

This news comes after Michael Horvath, who co-founded Strava 15 years ago with Mark Gainey, announced that he would resign.

Currently, Martin serves as general manager of YouTube Shopping, which helps content creators build and diversify their business through trading.

Martin is a veteran executive in technology, media and retail, has extensive experience leading a team of leading products, design, engineering, marketing, and businesses for various leading consumer and technology brands.

Horvath believes that Martin could be a trustworthy and reliable leader, to build Strava's momentum even further.
