JAKARTA - Google recently announced the opening of its new San Salvador office. This is Google's next step in supporting the country's digital transformation.

Not only that, the construction of this new office is also for the modernization of government services and economic development, in accordance with Google's collaboration agreement with the government of El Salvador since August 2023.

"We focus on supporting the country in modernizing the processes and services provided to its citizens, as well as offering training to various government entities," Eduardo Lopez, President of Google Cloud for Latin America, said in a statement.

In addition to announcing the opening of a new office, Google also shares the progress they have made as part of this agreement in the fields of digital governance, health and education. Among them:

Digital government: Google is working with the government on its journey to develop a simple digital ecosystem for import registration, export, health and sanitation.

Furthermore, Google will continue to support the government in developing platforms that allow interoperability between institutions and improve community services through digitization.

Health: Google now supports the government of El Salvador in developing telemedicine platforms with cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to automate the process and provide more access to health services in the country.

Education: Based on collaboration with the Ministry of Education of El Salvador since 2020, Google supports long-term projects that place technology as a center for increasing teaching and learning in public education systems in the country.

The first phase begins by providing a Google Workspace for Education account to all students in public schools and training teachers through the National Institute for Teacher Training belonging to the Ministry of Education.

Furthermore, Google will continue to train pedagogical managers to double the digital skills of teachers and students in El Salvador.
