JAKARTA - Telegram founderPavel Valeryevich Durov said that his platform continues to attract new users. Within a year, Telegram will reach one billion monthly active users. "We will probably surpass one billion monthly active users in one year now," Durov said through the Tucker Carlson Interview event. Durov is also optimistic that Telegram will remain a neutral platform and not a geopolitical player.

"I'd rather be free than take orders from anyone," said Durov. The Telegram founder also claimed that the US security agency, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), ordered workers on Telegram to look for entrances to the platform. Despite frequent pressure from the government, Durov said that the issue of freedom of expression on Telegram did not occur because of the government, but because large companies like Apple and Google. If Telegram does not comply with Apple and Google's rules properly, the platform has the potential to be removed from the App Store and Play Store.
