JAKAFRTA - US-based medical device provider Rotech Healthcare said on Friday 23 February that it was reviewing a list of patients who may be affected by cybersecurity breaches experienced by its partner Philips' Respironics unit.
Orlando-based Rotech said in a statement that Respironics, which sells breathing devices and ventilators to treat sleep apnea, was notified on June 5 of a privacy incident in which unauthorized third parties used software to access information stored on its servers.
Rotech said Respironics immediately took steps to secure the system and carry out further investigations and analysis.
During the investigation, it was found that a third party extracted files found on the online server on May 31, 2023, by accessing files that may contain details such as patient personal information.
