Officially Re-branding, Zoom Removes 'Video' Word From Company Name

JAKARTA Zoom re-branded on Monday, November 25. In a change in the image of the company, Zoom said that it had removed the word 'Video' from the company's name.

Despite being known as Zoom, the company's official name is Zoom Video Communications Inc. This name reflects the solution Zoom has provided over the years, which is to help people connect via video communication software.

However, over time, Zoom's priorities have changed. Zoom CEO and Founder, Eric S. Yuan, said that Zoom is already more than just a video communication platform. Zoom is now a company that focuses on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI).

"We are a company that prioritizes AI that provides modern hybrid work solutions that allow you to collaborate smoothly," Eric said in Zoom's latest report.

In line with this statement, Eric said that they had released the word 'video' from the company name. Now, the company led by Eric is officially called Zoom Communications Inc.

Through this name change, Eric believes that his company can give birth and develop more high-quality products. Zoom will present the best work platform and prioritize its AI-based solutions, such as Zoom Docs and Zoom AI Companion version 2.0.

"We believe our new name is more accurate reflecting our growing scope and plans for long-term growth. Zoom's next generation is built by prioritizing the most important things; helping you produce creative and insightful work," Eric explained.
