JAKARTA - After being introduced last year, Slack has finally launched its generative AI tool or Slack AI globally, which will make it easier for users to focus on their work.

“With Slack AI, we are excited to take this transformation to the next level. "These new AI capabilities empower our customers to access the collective knowledge within Slack so they can work smarter, move faster, and spend their time on the things that fuel real innovation and growth," said Slack CEO Denise Dresser.

The first AI tool is channel recap, where you can create highlights on any channel. This tool will also create a brief recap of what happened, find out unread messages, summarize discussions in the last seven days, and so on.

Later, the recap results will also be accompanied by clearly cited sources in each summary, allowing you to dive deeper into each highlight.

Then, Slack will also provide instant answers according to the questions asked. With AI-powered search, users will now get clear, concise, and personalized answers with direct quotes to relevant Slack messages.

Slack said that launching this feature was their first step. The company promises to bring more exciting AI-powered features in the future.

Slack AI is currently available as a paid add-on for the Enterprise plan and is available in English. Additional packages and language support will be coming soon.

"But this is just the first chapter as we continue to innovate and provide more value to our customers over time," concluded the company.
