Platform X Committed To Fighting Hate Speech

JAKARTA CEO X Linda Yaccarino said that her platform is a means for free information flows. All users have the right to convey any information or ideas.

From the various information and ideas conveyed, interaction will create discussion and provide broad knowledge for other users. Indirectly, this process will create information independence.

Yaccarino realized that this process is a hallmark of platform X, formerly known as Twitter. However, not everyone can limit themselves so that this freedom can lead to hate speech.

Heavy content filtering practices on several platforms and media entities have changed people's understanding of the truth. And we see things we think are really being challenged openly," Yaccarino said via blog X.

Platform X is indeed rich in information, but all this information still has to be controlled. Therefore, X tries to filter information to increase accuracy and reduce tweets made to bring down certain parties.

The words that encourage hatred really destroy our society, divide society, and threaten the order of life we have. It is our duty to combat hate speech in our community and on every platform, "explained Yaccarino.

X seeks to fight hate speech every year. So far, they have removed millions of content that violates the Terms of Service. They also suspended many accounts that committed acts of violence and hate behavior.

Yaccarino said that X will continue to be committed to fighting hate speech, whatever it takes. They will maintain the right to freedom of expression and prioritize information independence from users.

Huffering hatred is a lifelong dedication. Our mandate on X is clear, we must protect freedom of expression, maintain information independence, as well as overcome antisemitism and hate speech," said Yaccarino.
