Snapchat Expands Parental Control In Family Center Features

JAKARTA - In 2022, Snapchat launched the Family Center, a series of tools for parents that allow parents to see which friends they talk to on Snapchat, regulate content controls and so on.

Now, the company is announcing the expansion of the Family Center feature, which provides more visibility to parents and empowers them to have productive conversations about online security.

Through an upcoming update in the coming weeks, parents will be able to gain visibility to their teenage account settings such as Story settings, contact settings, and when their child shares his location with his friends on Snapchat.

In addition, parents can now limit the capabilities of My AI, an AI-backed Snapchat chatbot, to respond to chats from their teenage children.

The latest update is easy access to the Family Center, where the company makes it easier for the Family Center to be found by parents who may not be used to Snapchat.

Now, parents can access the Family Center directly from their profiles, or by going to settings, which are located in the upper right corner of their parents' profiles.

"Our goal is to help parents and adolescents who may just get to know Snapchat find and join the Family Center easily," the company wrote in its blog.
