JAKARTA - The year 2023 is the year with the most game releases, especially on Steam. This is evidenced by the SteamDB website which states that during 2023, there were 14,531 new games.
This number increased by almost two thousand games compared to the previous year which was only 12,559 new game titles. Meanwhile, in 2022 there were 11,388 games released.
The historical data of SteamDB also reveals that the release of video games in 2023 is almost double the number of games released 5 years ago in 2018, totaling only 8,900 games.
