JAKARTA Samsung realizes that battery health is one of the important factors to make the phone last long. Therefore, Samsung created the Battery Protection feature.

From the findings of 9to5google, this feature will be added to the next operating system (OS), namely One UI 6.1. Although it seems that this feature is still long out, there are some users who can feel the Battery Protection feature first.

In particular, One UI 6.0 users with Android 14 will feel this feature. However, this Battery Protection feature is not seen explicitly because users have to download an application first to see its features in Activities.

First, users need to download Activity Launcher, then look for the Battery Protection menu and activate the feature. Once enabled, the Activity display will add a new menu that shows three battery levels. You can activate this feature.

There are three choices of Battery Protection that Samsung adds, namely Basic Protection, Adaptive Protection, and Maximum Protection. At Basic Protection, the battery will not continue to charge because it is 100 percent already charged.

When your battery is charged up to 100 percent, charging will stop until the battery level drops to 95 percent and then charging will restart. This will be repeated until your phone is cut off from the charger," write a statement in the Basic Protection option.

Meanwhile, for Adaptive Protection, the phone will slow down charging when it reaches 80 percent. This option is very useful if you often charge your phone at night while sleeping.

The charging will be charged at 80 percent when you sleep and finish charging up to 100 percent just before you wake up. This provides moderate protection for people who charge their phones at night.

Lastly, Maximum Protection will limit charging to 80 percent. When you wake up from sleep, your phone won't reach 100 percent as the system will immediately stop charging.

If the way to activate this feature feels quite complicated, you just have to wait for Samsung to launch One UI 6.1. This OS update will take place next year because Samsung just launched One UI 6.0 last August.
