JAKARTA - According to a Bloomberg News report on Wednesday 20 December citing sources familiar with the matter, Apple has increased production of the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, and will launch it in February 2024.

Production of the new headset is in full swing at a facility in China and has been underway for the past few weeks. The aim is to have units to be shipped to customers ready by the end of January, with a retail launch planned for the following month, the report added.

The Vision Pro, priced at USD 3,499 (IDR 54.6 million), was launched in June and is expected to be available in early 2024 in the United States.

The company sent an email to software developers Wednesday, encouraging them to "be ready" for Vision Pro by testing their apps with the latest tools and submitting their software to Apple for feedback.

Media reports in July said that the iPhone maker was forced to make major cuts to production estimates for the headset due to the complexity of the design.
