JAKARTA – Just like other messaging platforms, iMessage can see whether their messages have been received and read by the recipient. However, this message can also be hidden.

To hide read receipts, iMessage users must turn off read receipts. How to disable it is not difficult, but not everyone knows how to turn it off.

Quoting from Makeuseof, this receipt can be hidden from iPhone and iPad devices. First, open Settings on your device, then open the Messages menu and scroll down the screen.

After finding the Send Read Receipt option, turn off the green button until it changes color to grey. This color indicates that the feature has been disabled.

This feature of turning off punctuation applies to all users. This means that no user can know that their message has been received and read by you.

If you mind turning off the feature altogether, Apple also provides the option of turning off read receipts for just some conversations. This feature can be turned off directly from the application.

First, open iMessage and open the chat for which you want to turn off read receipts. If you don't have a previous chat, you'll need to create one first.

After that, go to the recipient's profile picture at the top of the screen and turn off Send Read Receipts. Now, the person you are chatting with will no longer see the read receipts.
