Cyber Attacks Decrease, People Are Still Asked To Be Careful In Receiving Links

Throughout 2023, Kaspersky managed to find 97,465 financial phishing, 16.4 million local incidents, 11.7 million RDP attacks, and 97,226 ransomware detections in Indonesia.

Now, the latest cyber threat to Indonesia that shows a decline in local threats in the first quarter of 2024 is 5,863,955 detections. Down 23.37 percent compared to the same period last year.

"Although our statistics show a general decline in online and local threats in Indonesia, the number of detections is still relatively high," said Kaspersky Indonesia's Territory Channel Manager Dony Koesmandin in a statement received

Overall, 21.2 percent of users are attacked by threats spread through the web during the Q1 2024 period. This puts Indonesia ranked 96th in the world in terms of the dangers associated with web browsing.

"With the level of internet penetration in Indonesia reaching 79.5 percent, this means that more and more valuable data is attracting cybercriminals," added Dony.
