JAKARTA - Four United States (US) lawmakers have reportedly encouraged the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate Neuralink, a neurotechnology company owned by Elon Musk.

According to a Reuters report, the four people who requested this investigation were Earl Blumenauer, Jim McGovern, Barbara Lee, and Tony Cardenas of the Democratic Party. They suspect Musk has deceived investors about the security of the brain implants they did.

These four regulators have sent letters to the SEC. They cited the records of veterinarians regarding the Neuralink trial to dozens of monkeys some time ago before human trials were allowed.

At least, there were 12 monkeys that were injected dead due to impan problems. With these findings, Neuralink is considered to have made the animals suffer from the painful side effects of the implants they have done.

In fact, many animals are reported to have experienced paralysis, seizures, and swelling of the brain due to this implant. However, Musk does not seem to take investors' concerns seriously regarding the results of Neuralink's tests.

Musk once wrote that, No monkey died from Neuralink implants. This writing was shared through his personal X account on September 10. He also said that they chose the monkey who was sick and almost died.

The deaths of these monkeys are thought to be related to the safety and selling power of Neuralink's interfaces. That way, Musk may have violated the rules set by the SEC.
