YOGYAKARTA An instant messaging platform presents a new feature called Protect Ip Address in Calls. As the name implies, this feature allows users to hide the Internet Protocol address aka the device's IP when making a voice call. So, how to hide the WA user'sip when calling?

While it can improve security, the new WhatsApp feature is likely to lower the quality of phone calls as the data transfer speed is slower than the inter-device or peer-to-peer (P2P) connection.

The Protect Ip Address in Calls feature, which allows users to hide the Internet Protocol address when making voice calls, is already available in Indonesia for Android WhatsApp version 2.23.23.78.

Users can activate it by visiting the 'Settings' menu. Next, click 'Privacy', then scroll the screen until you find the words 'Advanced'.

In the 'Advanced' menu, users will menute the words 'Protect IP address in calls'. Users only need to slide the toggle to the right to activate it.

In addition to presenting the Protect Ip Address in Calls feature, WhatsApp also launched another new security feature last June. The feature is named Silence Unknown Callers. This feature serves to silence unknown calls.

In this feature, WhatsApp embeds a new technology called a privacy token. With this, users can choose which contacts to trust or not.

Server will validate tokens with a number of factors. Later, when there is a voice call, it will be determined whether to allow the contact to contact the user or not.

"For the sake of the privacy of our users, the server does not learn anything about the relationship between the caller and the token recipient," WhatsApp said.
