JAKARTA - Vice President of Product X, Keith Coleman, explained a number of improvements to Community Notes, a feature they developed to combat disinformation.

During the Israel and Hamas war, platform X continued to add updates in Community Notes. As a result, this feature is increasingly being used and reaching more users.

Via the company's blog, Coleman said that Notes had been viewed more than 100 million times in the last two weeks, a very satisfying figure for the platform.

This achievement was successful because Notes continued to be pinned on uploads that might mislead readers, such as out-of-context videos that give rise to hoaxes and image manipulation with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

With this achievement, X believes that the Notes feature can be the best alternative in eradicating disinformation. What's more, this feature can be seen by all X users.

Recently, X also added mandatory source inclusion for contributors. He added that this policy means that false information spreading on the platform will be increasingly resolved.

So far, X has succeeded in increasing the speed and scale of Notes deployment. When the war between Israel and Hamas occurs, new records are added an average of five hours later.

Now, the average time to add a Note has grown. Contributors started adding their sources an average of 1.5 hours to 3.5 hours after the information was uploaded.

Additionally, X has also added eight updates to the Community Notes in just two weeks. This number of updates shows X's seriousness in tackling disinformation.

To date, Notes has had 100 thousand contributors in 44 countries. This figure is expected to continue to increase for some time to come.
