Seagate Launches Latest Exos Hard Disk With 24TB Capacity

JAKARTA SeagateTechnology, a data storage solution provider company, launched a hard diskExos X24. As the name implies, the hard disk is produced with a capacity of 24 TB.

In addition to presenting a capacity of 10 disks with 2.4TB each, Seagate also provides the X24Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) Cloudconfiguration service with a capacity of 28 TB.

The X24 Exos based on Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) is designed for the hydroperscale data center company. The reason is, the hard disk has a strong performance and proven technology.

In its release, Seagate explained that the Exos X24 was made with helium with a high capacity of 3.5 inches and 7,200 RPM. This disk screen offers an Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) and an Attached SCSI (SAS) series interface.

The increase in the cache presented in this hardware component has been upgraded to the highest performance, which is three times better than cached or written.

The X24 Exos presents an increase in the Sustained Data Rate (SDR) to 285MB/second. This device has also been tested with a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) value of 2.5 million hours.

Seagate states that their products are equipped with Seagate Secure to maintain maximum security. This security consists of self-encryption technology (SED), SED-FIPS, and safe instant removal (ISE).

Currently, the Exos X24 has been tested and its products will begin to be marketed globally in December. For Indonesia, the Seagate Exos X24 will be available in mid-December with a five-year warranty.
