JAKARTA - Earlier this year, TikTok introduced a program called Effect Creator Rewards, where creators who have been paid can access prizes for the trend of effects they make.

In its latest blog post, TikTok announced a major update to the Effect Creator Rewards, which will have a positive impact on program members, and make more content creators able to access rewards for their effects.

First, TikTok has expanded the Effect Creator Rewards to 14 other countries, namely Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

Second, TikTok also reduces the number of videos needed to qualify for this program. If previously they had to have 500,000 videos made with the effect, now content creators only need to publish 5 effects and at least 3 effects are used in 1,000 videos.

"In the previous program version, creators needed an effect to use in 500,000 videos so that the effect could start getting rewards. Now, each effect only needs to be used in 200,000 videos in eligible areas to start collecting prizes," explained TikTok.

Additionally, if previously, content creators had to collect more than 100,000 videos made with the effect of getting their next payments, now content creators can raise rewards for any additional eligible videos by the end of 90 days.

"We are also transitioning to a variable level of payment, meaning content creators will receive different payments for videos made with their influence based on certain factors, such as the area where the video was created," the company added.
