JAKARTA - Meta announced it is testing a new capability for public accounts to be able to share comments from posts or feeds or reels to their stories.

“We are currently testing the ability for public accounts to share comments from public feed posts or Reels to their stories,” wrote Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri in his broadcast channel on Instagram on Tuesday, August 29.

With this capability, Instagram gives you the ability to highlight an interesting comment, and respond to and share it directly to your Instagram.

"The idea is to help creators highlight important or interesting comments from fellow creators or fans," Mosseri further added.

Apart from these features, recently Meta has also officially launched the web version of its newest social media platform, Threads, on August 15.

Other news from Meta is that the Mark Zuckerberg-owned company will be releasing an artificial intelligence (AI) model designed to aid in writing computer code, expanding their push in the new technology.

On the other hand, the Messenger Lite app, the light version of Messenger will be removed from the Google Play Store for new users and will no longer be available after September 18th for current users.

Messenger Lite for Android was first introduced in 2016. This release is meant for users with Android devices that don't have much space.
