JAKARTA - Sony Music Entertainment has withdrawn a lawsuit against Triller over allegations that the short video platform used music from the label without permission. This was revealed according to documents filed in Manhattan federal court.
Sony Music and Triller notified the court on Friday 11 August that they would end the copyright case with prejudice, meaning the lawsuit could not be re-submitted.
Representatives from the two companies did not immediately respond on Monday, August 14 regarding further requests for information, including whether the two companies had reached a settlement.
Triller has settled part of the lawsuit in April, agreeing to pay more than $4.5 million on charges of violating contracts with the label.
