JAKARTA - Google Search users are now easier to find their personal information in cyberspace. They can control it or remove it whenever they want.

Last year, Google launched a Results tool about you to make it easier for users to request the removal of search results containing personal phone numbers, home addresses, or emails, directly from the Google or Search app.

"Now, we have updated and refined the tool significantly, helping you track down your personal contact information in Search and let you know when we find it, so you can delete it," Google said in its official announcement, quoted Friday, August 4.

Meanwhile, in the coming weeks, the company will launch a new dashboard that will notify users if web results with their contact information appear in Search.

That way, users can quickly request to remove these results from Google directly on the dashboard.

"We will also let you know when new results from the web containing your contact info appear in Search, to give you peace of mind," Google said.

Users can access this tool in the Google app by clicking on a Google account photo and selecting "Results about you", or by visiting goo.gle/resultsaboutyou.

However, the feature is only available in the United States (US) in English and will soon roll out to other countries and languages soon.
