Minister Of Communication And Information Budi Arie Setiadi Highlights Four Important Tasks From President Jokowi

JAKARTA - On Monday, July 17, Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially appointed Budi Arie Setiadi as the new Minister of Communication and Information, together with Nazer Patria as Deputy Minister for the 2019-2024 term.

In his remarks, the Minister of Communication and Information expressed optimism in carrying out the task of helping President Joko Widodo to build the communication and informatics sector.

"So communication and informatics are not new places for me. As directed by the Coordinating Minister, the challenges are very heavy, but we must be optimistic and move quickly. There is no need to be pessimistic, the important thing is that if there is a problem, let the problematic solve the problem, right," said Budi.

According to him, President Joko Widodo mandates to continue to carry out four important focuses of Kominfo, including equitable distribution of digital infrastructure, controlling digital platforms, strengthening the digital ecosystem and digital talent.

"The four special messages directly from President Jokowi are how will it be with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, to build a narrative of the Peaceful Election in 2024," he said further.

Not to forget, Nazer also asked for guidance from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD to continue to carry out strategies to build equitable digital infrastructure in Indonesia.

"There is a lot to be done in the next year, according to the current term of office, and we hope that all the tasks mandated by the president can be carried out as well as possible," Nazer concluded.
