JAKARTA - Celebrating the 57th anniversary of Black Panther's comic debut, Electronic Arts (EA) announced that its AAA game development studio in Seattle, Cliffhanger Games is working on the Black Panther game.

According to the announcement shared on Monday, July 10, the game will be an original third-person, single-player game being worked on in partnership with Marvel Games.

"Our mission is to build an expansive and reactive world that empowers players to experience what it's like to don the mantle of Wakanda's protector, the Black Panther," wrote EA in its official statement.

The development studio is led by Kevin Stephens, former studio head of Monolith Productions. Stephens noted that this development would provide a gaming experience like never before.

“We are dedicated to giving fans the definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-based video game,” said Kevin.

"Wakanda is a rich Superhero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do," he added.

Through his collaboration with Marvel Games, Kevin wants players to be able to experience what it's like to be worthy of the Black Panther mantle in a unique, story-driven way.

"We want Cliffhanger Games to empower everyone on our team as we collaborate to bring this amazing world to life," concluded Kevin.

However, according to TechCrunch, studio Cliffhanger Games declined to share specific details of the upcoming game, including its title, plot points, and launch date.
