JAKARTA - Developer Avalanche Software has again announced a delay in the release of Hogwarts Legacy for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players in May.

This open world RPG set in a wizarding world was originally slated for release on April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One. However, in the end the developers decided to postpone it to May 5, 2023.

"We are very grateful for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the world. The team is working hard to provide the best experience across all platforms and we need more time to do this. Hogwarts Legacy will launch for PS4 and Xbox One May 5, 2023, said the developer on Twitter.

Hogwarts Legacy launched last month for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but prior to the announcement of the delay, the developer had also announced that the game would also be delayed on Nintendo Switch, until July 25th.

The same was announced by developer Avalanche Software in a recently published tweet, which read "The team is working hard to provide the best experience across all platforms and we need more time to do so."

Last month, WB Games announced that Hogwarts Legacy had sold more than 12 million copies worldwide within its first two weeks of launch, and generated over $850 million in revenue.

Developer Avalanche Software previously said it had no plans for DLC or expansions, but has since indicated those plans may be on hold until the game is out on all platforms.
