JAKARTA - TikTok accused the European Commission of failing to consult with him regarding the decision to ban the short Chinese video sharing app from staff phones on cybersecurity grounds, a move that other EU agencies later followed.

"The termination of the use of TikTok is a pure internal decision for cybersecurity reasons to protect the data and staff of the Secretariat General of the Council. Since GSC has no contract relationship with TikTok, there is no obligation to consult or notify them," EU officials said.
