Former Governor To Figures Join Jakarta's Hopes In 500 Meters Of Cloth, Will Be Spread 2027

JAKARTA - A number of figures ranging from the former Governor of DKI Jakarta to the minister wrote the hope for the City of Jakarta at the Bahtang Harapan JakASA event which was held at the City Hall of DKI Jakarta as a series of celebrations for the New Year 2025.

The total length of the cloth prepared by the DKI Provincial Government as a container for writing the hope is 500 meters long.

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, explained that the cloth with the hope of being stretched again in 2027.

"God willing, we will reopen it at 500 years in Jakarta, namely on June 22, 2027. How will we do later, what is written now and what we will see on June 22, 2027," said Teguh at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, December 31.

Why is the cloth filled with hope made by the DKI Provincial Government for 500 meters? Because, in the next two years, Jakarta is even 500 years old.

"I am sure, with all the large capital, we will be able to go there. Moreover, I am sure, the governor, especially in the future, God willing, the trust. We pray for the trust," said Teguh.

Teguh said, Jakarta will soon leave the status of the nation's capital. Teguh believes that all people can realize the discourse of Jakarta as a global city.

"We believe that can be realized, and then, we feel that soon we will welcome five centuries in Jakarta, namely the place is June 22 in 2027," explained Teguh.

In this activity, the figures wrote their respective hopes of using the markers that were put on the cloth. Starting from the former Governor of DKI Sutiyoso, Fauzi Bowo, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), Djarot Saiful Hidayat, to Anies Baswedan.

Then, former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta 2016-2017 Soni Sumarsono, to Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar.

Not only that, the pair of candidates for the Governor of DKI Jakarta to be elected in the 2024 Pilkada, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno also wrote down their hopes. Then, Suswono and Kun Wardana, the deputy governor candidates for the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
