JAKARTA - Tech giant Meta announced the expansion of its partnership with the NBA and WNBA to offer more than 50 professional basketball league VR games in the Meta Quest.

Meta Quest is the NBA's official VR headset, as Facebook signed a deal with the basketball league in 2020.

In its announcement, the company said it would deliver packages containing 52 straight NBA games, including five 180-degree immersive VR monoscopic games at 2880 in Xtadium and on Meta Horizon Worlds.

Furthermore, Meta will also offer a choice of matches between WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League throughout the season. On Meta Horizon Worlds, you can also access the highlight games, recaps, and archive content.

Not only that, the company owned by Mark Zuckerberg also announced its partnership with the league to launch NBA-licensed clothing at the Meta Avatar Store in the coming weeks.

"You'll be able to buy your favorite NBA team or WNBA outfits for your avatars and showcase them on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and in Meta Quest," said Meta League Sports Media and Partnership Director Rob Shaw, in a blog post.

As additional information, XTADIUM is only available in the US. And Meta Horizon Worlds is currently available to people aged 18+ in the US, Canada, UK, Iceland, Ireland, France, and Spain on the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro.
