JAKARTA - WhatsApp users who like to post statuses with text, will soon be able to upload statuses in the form of their voices within 30 seconds.

First reported by WABetaInfo, Thursday, January 19, the Voice Note feature in that state is currently being tested by a limited number of beta participants.

Voice Notes are very popular on WhatsApp, where they can leave voice messages, and share them with groups.

Meanwhile, through the current WhatsApp Status feature, users can add text that will appear for 24 hours or share images with captions, which will also disappear within one day, much like Instagram's Stories.

The new feature was found in the latest WhatsApp Android beta version 2.23.2.8. In the screenshot uploaded by WABetaInfo, it shows the normal screen when posting a status, but now displays a microphone icon in the lower right corner.

By pressing the microphone icon, users can record Voice Notes, which can then be shared as their statuses. Unfortunately, there is no further information regarding this feature and whether it will be launched for iOS as well.

Lastly, WhatsApp is also reportedly testing a feature that will allow users to move their chat history between Android phones without the need for a backup system or cloud.
