JAKARTA - Shipping company Maersk announced on Tuesday 29 November that the Danish shipping company will retire its blockchain platform it announced in 2018 in partnership with computer company IBM with the aim of limiting the industry's costly paper footprint.
According to the company's sources, the blockchain platform called TradeLens will be phased out by the end of March next year.
"While we succeeded in developing a viable platform, the need for full global industry collaboration has not been met," the company said in a statement.
