JAKARTA - Waymo has finally launched an autonomous electric hearse without a steering wheel, pedals, or mirrors that they are betting on for the future of ride-hailing.

The company, which is Google's parent-subsidiary, Alphabet, partnered with Geely Group's Zeekr brand and has designed it as an optimized 'transported service' electric vehicle.

Waymo currently offers several forms of robotaxi services in the two states, Arizona and California, and showcased thedices at this week's Los Angeles press event.

The sleek-looking white vehicle has sliding doors reminiscent of subways in New York, but has no wheels, rearview mirrors, or pedals.

Inside, there are three touch screens where passengers can play music or choose a destination and there is enough space for five people.

"Vehicles can be a place to host friends, offices that can be moved for meetings, room for children to study, or a relaxing room to relax and enjoy ZZ," Geely said in a press release. Users only need to step in and relax while traveling.

According to ArsTechnica, there is a six-time cylindrical sensor on the vehicle, most likely LIDAR, plus an additional sensor installed lower on the front and rear.

The opening of the SEA-M ZEEKR has demonstrated the strength and potential of the brand's technology. Going forward, ZEEKR will continue to work with great global partners to support better and more sustainable smart mobility for all," said ZEEEEKR CEO Andy AN, quoted by the Daily Mail.

Waymo last week opened a driverless travel service in downtown Phoenix for the general public in a significant technological expansion in big cities.

The news comes a day after Waymo obtained a driverless taxi license from the California Department of Motor Vehicles, which allows Waymo to charge autonomous services, such as deliveries, in San Francisco and this is a step towards implementing full driverless taxis in the state.

The company has previously operated driverless services in downtown Phoenix only for people on trusted tester programs.

Waymo's offerings in downtown Phoenix will allow anyone who downloads apps and rides in Waymo's service area to pay what the company calls a special experience of motorists in one of its Jaguar's I-Face EVs fleet.

According to TechCrunch, earlier this month, Waymo also launched a ride, with drivers in the front seat, to Phoenix airport from downtown,

The company currently has more than 700 vehicles in its fleet, which includes a mix of Jaguar I-Pace EVs and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid▁mobils as well as Class 8 trucks.

Most of these vehicles are located in Arizona, California, and Texas and are used in testing and commercial operations.
