Highlighting VAT Up 12%, Denny Sumargo: Don't Be A Problem

JAKARTA - The government plans to increase the Value Added Tax (VAT) to 12% as of January 1, 2025. Unfortunately this plan has received rejection and criticism from various circles.

One of them is celebrity Denny Sumargo who feels that if this plan is realized, the community will be burdened.

"I actually think about the community. There must be a lot of people being burdened with a fairly high score," said Denny Sumargo in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 20.

The reason is that he sees this increase sometimes not in accordance with public expectations which in turn cause protests.

"Because many developed countries have high taxes, but the facilities are also adequate. People have the right to complain too," he added.

"For example, if there is a damaged road, people can protest. Here, it's not going well," said Denny Sumargo.

Therefore, Denny Sumargo asked the government to reconsider the plan so as not to add to the problem.

"Actually, it can be considered again, if the community is ready. Do not let problems occur that make our economy a problem," he said.
