JAKARTA – After WhatsApp experienced a blackout or down, the messaging application belonging to Apple Inc. also experienced the same thing. The company said Tuesday, October 25 that the issue that caused a brief outage in its iMessage service and FaceTime video calling app had been resolved.

Users have previously complained of not being able to send and receive text messages in iMessage and some reported issues while making FaceTime calls.

More than 2.000 users reported problems with messaging in the app, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.

Downdetector also tracks outages by compiling status reports from multiple sources including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outage may affect more users.

Earlier on Tuesday, WhatsApp Meta Platforms Inc (META.O) faced a global outage, which was later resolved.

#imessagedown trended on Twitter with over 30.000 tweets and several users posting memes about the outage.
