JAKARTA - After years of pleading, Twitter finally launched an edit button. However, this feature can only be used for Twitter Blue subscribers.

The edit button feature will initially roll out to Twitter Blue users in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The company also plans to launch this button in the United States (US) as well as globally.

In the announcement, this feature works when Twitter Blue users make a typo in their tweet, with 30 minutes, they can edit the tweet until it is published.

It should be noted, the tweet can be edited up to five times during that time frame. For the sake of transparency, edited tweets will have a modified "last edited" timestamp and the time of the last change.

Click on the timestamp and the user himself or someone else will see the entire edit history of the tweet.

Citing Engadget, Tuesday, October 4, many reports stated that the company started testing the edit button in April. Back then, there were early indications that the feature could include an edit history screen.

In early September, Twitter admitted it had actually created an edit button, by launching a test tweet at the end of the month and a few weeks later, the edit button was launched.

Even so, Twitter is still testing the feature technically. Users can also only edit original tweets and quote tweets. Many types of tweets cannot be edited, such as threads, replies, retweets, embedded tweets, Super Follow tweets, and tweets that users create in third-party applications.
