After 62,000 KPR Contracts, TAPERA Prepares 71,000 Houses in East Java

BATANG - Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait said TAPERA prepared a follow-up agenda of 71,000 houses in East Java on September 17, 2026. The agenda was conveyed after the mass signing of 62,000 subsidized housing mortgages in Batang Regency, Central Java.

Maruarar or Ara conveyed this at the Mass Akad 62,000 Units of Subsidized House KPR and Rp880 billion Housing KUR event, Thursday, July 30, 2026.

He said that cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and Human Settlements and TAPERA had been carried out several times. Ara said the agenda in Batang was the third.

"This TAPERA has been three times, sir," said Ara.

According to Ara, the first agenda was held with 26,000 houses. The second agenda reached 50,000 houses. On that day, the number rose to 62,000 houses.

"The first 26,000. The second 50,000. And today 62,000," he said.

Ara then conveyed the next plan. He asked for President Prabowo Subianto's willingness to attend on September 17, 2026 for the 71,000 houses in East Java.

"We also invite you, on September 17, 2026 for 71,000 houses prepared by TAPERA with developers and banks in East Java," said Ara.

According to Ara, the provision of houses requires cooperation from the government, TAPERA, developers, and banks. Without financing and developer support, the large target of subsidized houses is difficult to run quickly.

During the event, Ara also highlighted the role of Himbara banks in distributing mortgages. He said BRI was strong in home mortgages, while BTN was the highest for subsidized houses.

The agenda of 71,000 houses in East Java is a signal that the government wants to increase the scale of the housing program. From 26,000, 50,000, then 62,000, the government is targeting a larger number in the next agenda.
