JAKARTA - SEGA has just announced the release date of the Yakuza spin-off game, Like a Dragon: Ishin! which will be released on February 21, 2023.

Not only that, apart from revealing the release date, SEGA also shared a new trailer that is more than five minutes long.

The trailer shows the Shinsengumi infiltrating a castle in a terrible way. It also outlines the cast, which features more than a few familiar faces.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a remake of Yakuza: Ishin! which has been released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2014.

Since the game is a remake, the developer takes on the Late Edo period (circa 80s) with protagonist Sakamoto Ryoma seeking revenge for the murder of his mentor. With a secret identity, he managed to join the Shinsengumi in Kyoto.

"For this new version, we will take popular characters from Yakuza 6 and 7 and add them to the game, this is an all-star cast," Masayoshi Yokoyama said in the livestream as quoted by VGC.

"We're going to take songs and other stuff from other games and make this an all-star version," he added.

Ishin! is currently being developed on Unreal Engine 4 and captures the bloodbath of the era. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
