JAKARTA - A world-famous Japanese video game designer, Hideo Kojima is well known for his track record of creating games. These days, Kojima Productions has a lot to work on.

Recently, via his Twitter account, Kojima revealed that at one point, he was considering making a game similar to Amazon's superhero series, The Boys.

The Boys is an American superhero web television series based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon, the series premiered on July 26, 2019.

In a series of tweets he wrote, Kojima explained that his project would focus on two male and female detectives, who would later become legendary heroes. Because he thought there were similarities between his project and The Boys series, Kojima decided not to watch it more.

“Because the concept is similar (different settings and tricks). A friend (male/female) with a special detective squad faces off against a legendary hero behind the scenes. I'm thinking of Mads in the lead role," he wrote.

What's interesting is, Kojima has Mads Mikkelsen in mind for the lead role. Unfortunately, in a follow-up tweet, Kojima said that the project never went through its initial conceptualization, so it's safe to say that the project wasn't real, or only existed in his mind.

Currently, Kojima Productions has confirmed that they are working on a cloud-native game with Xbox. On the other hand, the recently leaked Overdose game is still in the works.
