JAKARTA - Blizzard finally revealed the World of Warcraft Dragonflight expansion on Tuesday, March 19. Dragonflight will allow players to explore Dragon Island, the ancestral home of Azeroth's dragonflight. The disclosure also features a trailer that tells the history of the continent.

The expansion will consist of four new zones, Dragon Island will introduce Dractyr, a new playable dragon race that can take on a humanoid form, UI improvements, Talent tree changes, and profession updates.

Dractyr characters can join an Alliance or Horde, and they are the only race that can access the expansion's new Evoker class. As an Evoker, you can specialize in healing your allies or fight as a mid-range damage dealer.

Dragonflight will also introduce Dragon Riding. While World of Warcraft has had flying mounts since 2007's Burning Crusade, the new expansion looks to add more dynamism to the activity with special maneuvers the drake can perform while in the air.

In addition to those features, Blizzard says the expansion will ship with quality-of-life improvements, including a redesigned user interface that can be personalized to your liking. There is also a new talent system for class customization and adjustments to the game's crafting mechanics.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight doesn't have a release date yet but we hope Blizzard will share more details about the expansion in the weeks and months ahead.

The studio announced today that they are also planning to re-release 2008's Wrath of the Lich King for World of Warcraft Classic.
