JAKARTA - South Korean electronics company LG Display will showcase two flexible OLED concepts at CES 2022 – assuming the pandemic doesn't claim the annual trade show as its latest victim.

The first is the “Virtual Ride” stationary bike. It features three vertical 55-inch OLED displays that form one continuous screen in front of and above the rider. The top panel has a radius of curvature of 500R. According to LG Display, that's the most extreme curve among large screens to date.

The second concept is the “Media Chair”. It's a recliner with a 55-inch OLED TV attached to it. It has a curvature of 1.500R, which LG says is ideal for a use case like this.

It also includes LG's Cinematic Sound OLED technology, which allows the display to produce sound without external speakers. Finally, the display can be switched between portrait and landscape orientations at the touch of a button located on the armrest of the chair.

As with most CES concepts, the chances of us seeing an LG advert for either the Virtual Ride or the Media Chair are slim.

That's not to say the company hasn't brought some of its past concepts to market (OLED R comes to mind), but it's better to look at this latest one as an example of how much LG's display technology has advanced in recent years.
