Drama Impact Epic Games And Apple, IPhone With Fortnite Games Sold For IDR 147 Million On E-Bay

JAKARTA - The drama Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite and the Apple cellphone manufacturer, has not ended, so many people have taken advantage of this situation to reap profits from selling the iPhone containing the game.

For example, a seller with the username samaple_0. He sells the iPhone X that still has Fortnite installed at a price of 10,000 US dollars or the equivalent of Rp.147 million.

There is also the ‌iPhone‌ 8 with Fortnite installed which has two bids for more than $ 4,000 US or approximately Rp. 59 million. But it is most likely a fake offer.

An iPhone SE 2020 with Fortnite currently costs $ 345, and there is an iPhone XS selling for $ 233, or approximately Rp. 3 million. Given the many other ways to play Fortnite, most of these eBay sellers will likely have no buyers.

Earlier, Apple pulled Fortnite from the App Store last week after Epic Games introduced the option to purchase in-game currency using a direct payment method. According to Apple this ignores its company rules around in-app purchases.

Epic Games filed a pre-planned lawsuit after the application was withdrawn. On Monday, Apple sent Epic a letter threatening to stop all developers before August 28. But Epic is trying to stop that from happening.

Apple said it plans to revoke Epic Games' access to the App Store and all application development tools, including those used for the Unreal Engine that Epic Games provides to third-party developers. Responding to Epic's second lawsuit, Apple said it has no plans to make an exception for Epic Games in any case.

The Cupertino giant, USA has also made it clear that Fortnite can be returned to the ‌App Store‌ as soon as Epic Games agrees to follow Apple's ‌App Store‌ rules and policies, but it is not known whether and when Epic will give up.

Regardless of whether Epic tries to return Fortnite to the ‌App Store‌, this legal battle that has started could last for years.
