JAKARTA - Authorities in Fiji charged a man with alleged rape and sexual harassment of a 21-year-old Virgin Australia flight attendant on New Year's Day.
The suspect will be presented in court on Monday, January 6 next week after being detained on Wednesday.
This was conveyed by the acting police commissioner Jukiong Chew in an email confirming the Australian Broadcasting Corp report.
Virgin Australia declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.
Fiji previously said police were investigating a separate incident involving Virgin flight attendants in the city of Nadi, a tourist destination, on January 1 in the morning.
The investigation focused on an incident involving two airline crew members suspected of being victims of rape and theft upon stop before they were supposed to leave the next day.
