De La Hoya, now 48, has been revealing his comeback plans for several years after retiring in 2008 following his loss to Manny Pacquiao.
The Golden Boy confirmed earlier this year that he would return to the boxing ring in September. Since then, De La Hoya has said he will face former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in a professional bout to be promoted by social media giant Triller.
Belfort, who became UFC light heavyweight champion in 2004 after beating Randy Couture, is 4 years younger than De La Hoya and has a 26-14 MMA record.
