Jakarta - UFC boss Dana White says Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will meet for the fourth time after their trilogy bout at T-Mobile Arena ended prematurely when the Irish fighter broke his leg at the end of the first round.
Cited from Antara, Sunday, July 11, McGregor's left leg was bandaged as he was carried off the arena on a stretcher to a local hospital. White said McGregor will undergo surgery on Sunday morning local time.
"It sucks, it's brutal, this is not the way you want to end the fight. Dustin Poirier will fight for the title and when Conor is healed and ready to go there will be a rematch I think", White said at a news conference quoted by Reuters on Sunday.
McGregor and Poirier fought at high speed for the first five minutes before doctors stopped him because McGregor's leg was broken.
Poirier, who is already the number one challenger for the lightweight title, will next meet Brazilian Charles Oliveira, who won the belt in May when he beat Michael Chandler.

The UFC 264 lightweight fight should have ended what had been a fierce rivalry, but White said the two still had unfinished business in the arena.
"The fight isn't over yet. You can't finish a fight like that, who knows how long Conor will be out for? Poirier will do his job until Conor is ready".
Former President of the United States Donald Trump was among the 20.062 spectators in the sold-out T-Mobile Arena who heard McGregor issue a swearing tirade against Poirier after fights, including insulting the American fighter's wife.
"I don't like that. That's not good. Leave people's families and wives and all that out. The family has nothing to do with this", White said.
